The much talked about Varun Dhawan – Kriti Sanon starrer Bhediya hits screens today. Directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Dinesh Vijan, it is said to be the maker’s third installment in the horror-comedy universe. But will this new film which tells the story of a man who turns into a werewolf entice the audience to venture into theatres is the question of the hour. As per reports, Bhediya, which had received positive reviews across the board, has opened on a decent note.
In fact, despite the rather dismal advance bookings, Bhediya has seen an occupancy rate of approximately 30% over the morning and early afternoon shows. With this good trending and positive reviews, the film could easily see around Rs. 5 cr. plus coming in on opening day. Interestingly, based on the current trends trade predictions state that the business of Bhediya, which might start on a slightly sluggish note, will certainly see an increase as the weekend wears on.
As of now, Bhediya has managed to capture the audiences’ interest and is expected to see an increase in bookings and footfalls over evening and night shows. If that was not enough, with positive word of mouth from the audience trade expectations are that the business of the film will follow a similar path which the recently release south film Kantara had gone down. All in all, as it stands, the Varun Dhawan film Bhediya is expected to see around Rs. 5 cr. plus coming in on Day 1 with estimates of around Rs. 20 cr. plus coming in over its opening weekend.
