Check petrol and diesel price in Delhi, Mumbai and other Indian cities on November 24


Petrol and diesel prices have remained stagnant again on Thursday, 24 November 2022 for over six months now as per the latest notification issued by Oil Marketing Companies. On May 21, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced an excise duty cut on petrol and diesel by Rs 8 per litre and Rs 6 per litre, respectively. Then, the Maharashtra government had announced a Value-Added Tax (VAT) cut on petrol by Rs 5 per litre and Rs 3 per litre on diesel on July 15.
The Meghalaya government increased the Value-Added Tax (VAT) on August 24, 2022. Petrol price in Shillong now stands at Rs 96.83 per litre, while diesel in Shillong is now retailing at Rs 84.72 per litre. In Delhi, petrol and diesel are priced at Rs 96.72 and Rs 89.62 a litre, respectively. Petrol price in Mumbai is Rs 106.31 per litre and diesel price in Mumbai stands at Rs 94.27 per litre.

Retail petrol and diesel prices vary depending on various factors, such as freight charges, Value Added Tax (VAT) and local taxes. Fuel retailers, such as Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd revise the petrol and diesel prices daily at 6 am in line with forex rates and international benchmark prices.
