With the opening of the doors of Yamunotri and Gangotri Dham in the world famous Uttarakhand Chardham, the first worship was done in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The doors of Yamunotri Dham were opened on Friday and the doors of Gangotri Dham were opened on Saturday by law. The PM sent a gift of one thousand one hundred rupees to the temple committee for worship through the Devasthanam Management Board. Following the Corona guide line, the pilgrim priests wished for freedom and prosperity from corona infection. On this occasion, Tourism Minister Shri Satpal Maharaj while congratulating the pilgrims and devotees of the country and the world said that with the opening of the doors of Yamunotri and Gangotri Dham, first of all special worship was done in the name of Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi and PM Modi Offerings were also made to the temple by name. He told that on Saturday morning at 7.30 am, with special chanting of mantras, the Panda priests of Gangotri reached the Gangotri temple in limited numbers and opened the doors of the Gangotri temple. The priests organized a special lesson to rid the country and the world from the corona epidemic.

The Tourism Minister said that in the difficult times of Corona, arrangements are being made for online darshan of Chardham, respecting the spirit of the devotees. So that people can have darshan of Chardham by sitting at home. The Minister said that the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Tirath Singh Rawat extended his best wishes to all the country and the people of the state on the opening of the doors of Maa Gangotri Dham. Along with this, the Rawal of Gangotri Dham, the priests and the local Hakuk Dhari, Panda Purohit, employees and officers associated with the temples have been urged to follow the Corona guide line. Also appealed to take all necessary precautionary measures like social distancing and wearing of masks.
