Rudraprayag. The doors of Kedarnath Dham were opened on Monday morning at five o’clock in the marriage ceremony of Aries. During this, there was a presence of pilgrim priests, panda samaj and rightful people in the temple premises. While wishing the devotees, Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat has appealed to offer prayers by staying at home.

After the opening of the doors, the devotees wished for world welfare by visiting the self-styled linga of Baba Kedar. Due to Corona epidemic, this year also the doors of Kedarnath Dham opened without devotees. While wishing the devotees, Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat has appealed to offer prayers by staying at home. On this occasion, the Dham of Lord Kedarnath was decorated with 11 quintals of flowers in a grand and divine way. Rawal Bhimashankar Linga of Kedarnath and District Magistrate Manuj Goyal were also present on this occasion in Kedarnath Dham. Many deities including Lord Kedarnath were invoked under Panchag Puja in Kedar Puri by the head priest of Kedarnath Dham, Bagesh Ling and learned masters from 3.30 am on Monday. At exactly five o’clock, Rawal Bhimashankar Ling announced the opening of the doors in the presence of district, tehsil administration and Dev Sthanam Board officials and Teerth Purohit, wishing for world welfare and prosperity of the region. After the wish of Rawal Bhimashankar Linga, the doors of Lord Kedarnath were opened with the help of mythological traditions and rituals. When the doors opened, Kedar Puri resonated with the chants of Jai Bhole, Jai Kedar. After the opening of the doors, devotees wished for world welfare after seeing the self-styled linga of Baba Kedar. Due to Corona epidemic, this year also the doors of Kedarnath Dham opened without devotees. The government has postponed the Chardham Yatra due to corona infection. Only Rawal, Tirth Purohit, Panda Samaj and rightful people are allowed to offer prayers in the temple.
