At the behest of Narada Muni, the Pitras were worshipped. Like every day, Satyavan started going to the forest to cut wood to make food, so Savitri accompanied him. It was a painful day for Satyavan. Satyavan climbed the tree to chop wood, but came down because of his dizzy head. Savitri started caressing her husband keeping her head in her lap. Then Yamraj was seen coming who started taking Satyavan’s life. Savitri also started following Yamraj. He refused a lot, but Savitri said, where my husband goes, I must go there. Despite repeated refusals, Savitri kept walking back and forth. Seeing Savitri’s loyalty and devotion, one by one, Yama, in a boon, gave eyes to Savitri’s blind father-in-law, gave her lost kingdom and asked Savitri to return. How did she return? Savitri’s life was being taken by Yamraj. Yamraj again said that he can ask for whatever he wants except Satyavan, on this Savitri asked for the boon of 100 children and Saubhagyavati. Yama was pleased and said aastu without any thought. Committed Yamraj started moving forward. Savitri said that Lord I am a virtuous wife and you have blessed me to have a daughter. Hearing this, Yamraj had to give up Satyavan’s life. Savitri came near the same banyan tree where her husband’s dead body was lying. Satyavan became alive, parents got divine light and their kingdom was also returned. In this way, Savitri-Satyavan continued to enjoy the state’s happiness for a long time. * The story of Mother Savitri inspires us to maintain determination and strong will and unwavering faith in God and not to lose patience even in adversity * Humble request to all of you, stay at home with full devotion for your safety during the Corona period.
